The Indian government decided to honoured Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose's birth anniversary as Parakram Divas. Thus, January 23 is observed as Parakram Divas every year to honour and commemorated his unwavering spirit and selfless contribution to the nation.
The day seeks to encourage Indians, particularly young people, to tackle adversity with courage. It also aims to instill a patriotic spirit in younger generations.
The Trinamool Congress declared Netaji's birth anniversary to be 'Desh Nayak Diwas'.
Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose was born on January 23, 1920, in Cuttack, Odisha. Janakinath Bose and Prabhavati Dutt were his parents. Netaji was a famous leader in India's freedom struggle.
He established the Indian National Army (Azad Hind Fauj) to depose the British Empire from India. He was also involved in the Indian National Congress (INC). He was also the President of the INC between 1938 - 1939.
It is still unknown how Netaji died. According to government records, he died due to third-degree burns he suffered in a plane crash in Taiwan. As a result, it is universally acknowledged that Bose passed away on August 18, 1945, in a Taiwan airplane crash. Though some individuals believe that he survived that crash & went into hiding to elude the British.
