REPUBLIC DAY

Since the Indian constitution took effect on this day, January 26 is observed as Republic Day every year.

After 2 weeks of independence, a drafting committee was formed, led by B.R. Ambedkar.

The Indian constitution was adopted on November 26, 1949, which is observed as Constitution Day, and came into force on January 26, 1950.

On that day in 1930, the Indian National Congress had proclaimed "Purna Swaraj."

At Rajpath in New Delhi, the President of India hoists the national flag.

There are spectacular parades by battalions of the Indian army, navy, air force, police, & paramilitary units.

During the parade, lovely tableaus representing the various Indian states are showcased.

The festivities conclude with multiple air showcases as well as fly pasts by Indian military.
