TRAVELERS WITH A SINGLE NAME ON AN INDIAN PASSPORT ARE BARRED FROM ENTERING THE UAE.

ACCORDING TO NEW REGULATIONS, INDIAN TRAVELERS TO THE UAE MUST INCLUDE BOTH THEIR FIRST NAME AND SURNAME ON THEIR PASSPORTS IN ORDER TO GET ENTRY TO THE GULF NATION.

TRAVELERS WITH SINGLE NAMES WON'T BE PERMITTED TO ENTER THE UAE, ACCORDING TO THE GOVERNMENT'S NEW CIRCULAR, WHICH TOOK EFFECT ON NOVEMBER 21, 2022.

HOWEVER, THIS RULE DOES NOT APPLY TO PASSENGERS TRAVELING TO THE UAE ON A RESIDENT OR EMPLOYMENT VISA.

THE STATEMENT BY INDIGO AIRLINES ADDED THAT PASSENGERS WITH A SINGLE NAME ON PASSPORTS AND IN POSSESSION OF A RESIDENCE PERMIT OR EMPLOYMENT VISA SHALL BE PERMITTED TO TRAVEL PROVIDED THE 'FIRST NAME' & 'SURNAME' COLUMNS ARE UPDATED WITH THE SAME NAME.

THE AIRLINE ALSO ADVISED CUSTOMERS TO GET IN TOUCH WITH THEIR ACCOUNT MANAGER OR VISIT GOINDIGO.COM FOR FURTHER INFORMATION.

OTHER AIRLINE SERVICES TRAVELERS TO THE UAE HAVE REPORTEDLY BEEN ADVISED BY AIRLINES INCLUDING AIR INDIA EXPRESS AND SPICE JET TO MAKE SURE THAT THEIR PASSPORTS HAVE BOTH OF THEIR NAMES.
