Man Poses as Woman, Slits Sister-in-Law’s Throat in Delhi’s Rohini: A shocking crime in Delhi’s Rohini as a man allegedly disguised himself as a woman to attack and slit his sister-in-law’s throat over a long-standing family dispute. A 27, year, old physiotherapist who is a resident of Delhi’s Rohini area, was reportedly attacked by her brother, in, law after he allegedly pretended to be a woman and changed into women’s clothes before carrying out the assault. The accused has been taken into police custody, and the cops have booked the case of attempt to murder under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

A shocking incident in Delhi has left the whole capital in a state of shock. The 27, year, old physiotherapist was allegedly attacked by her brother, in, law in Rohini area. The police arrested the accused, identified as Jai Prakash Yadav, soon after the incident. As per the police, the quarrel started due to a family dispute that had been going on for several months and escalating.

The Incident in Sector-24, Rohini

The alleged assault took place on Monday afternoon at a therapy centre located in Sector-24, Rohini, where the victim works. Police said a PCR call was received at around 12:21 PM reporting that a woman had been attacked and her throat slit, though she was still conscious at the time of the call. Officers immediately rushed to the scene.

By the time the police team arrived, the injured woman had already been taken to BSA Hospital for emergency treatment. Doctors attending to her stated that she is currently undergoing medical care and remains unfit to give an official statement.

Accused Allegedly Used Disguise to Avoid Detection

Preliminary investigations indicate that the accused allegedly planned the attack in advance. To avoid raising suspicion, he reportedly wore a wig and dressed in women’s clothing before entering the therapy centre. Officials believe this disguise helped him move through the area without immediately attracting attention.

Police sources stated that the accused allegedly used a cutter blade to carry out the attack. After the assault, he attempted to flee the scene but was later found hiding on the rooftop of a nearby building.

During a swift search operation conducted in and around the premises, police teams successfully apprehended him. The cutter blade believed to have been used in the crime was recovered from his possession.

Background of the Family Dispute

According to a senior police officer, the accused had been involved in a prolonged dispute with his wife and her family since April 2025. Tensions reportedly escalated over personal and domestic disagreements.

During interrogation, the accused allegedly claimed that he committed the act out of revenge. He reportedly told investigators that he was angered by an incident in which his wife’s family allegedly assaulted his mother. Police are currently verifying these claims and examining any prior complaints or reports linked to the dispute.

Officials have clarified that the investigation is still at an early stage, and all aspects of the case are being examined carefully.

Legal Action and Ongoing Investigation

A case has been registered under charges of attempt to murder under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at Budh Vihar police station. The crime scene was secured immediately after the incident and examined by a forensic team to collect evidence.

Authorities have confirmed that further investigation will include reviewing CCTV footage from the area, collecting witness statements, and awaiting the victim’s account once she is medically fit to speak.
