He noted that these laws cover substantive crime, procedure, and evidence, with a central objective of digitizing various facets of criminal procedure.
Delivering the 20th DP Kohli Memorial Lecture under the theme “Adopting Technology to Advance Criminal Justice,” CJI Chandrachud underscored the significance of integrating technology into the criminal justice system. He highlighted the aim of the new laws to modernize criminal proceedings through digitization, aiming to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
